About Us
Sherry Ziegelmeyer
With 18 years of promotions and publicity
experience in the Los Angeles music and radio
industry, Sherry already had a solid background
in the techniques that attract media attention
and generate public interest. Along the way,
she found an amazing promotional resource
in the growing Internet community.
During the 80's, Sherry worked publicity
for a number of Hollywood bands, doing everything
from sending out press releases to selling
t-shirts. This old school education instilled
a need for improvisational
thinking. Later, she would channel this work
into her job for KLOS and KABC, KNPC, and Radio Disney.
Sherry took classes in programming.
She worked tech jobs and channeled that knowledge
into doing web design.
In 2003, Sherry and Jay met at a club called
Stiletto. On a lark, the two helped promote
the club and began working together on a
variety of projects for the leather community.
She decided to hang out her shingle and coined
the business Black and Blue Media.
Her first full time client was SLLAB. The first project was Frank Castle's The New Neighbors. Through an intense marketing campaign,
on the set coverage, and constant PR, the
movie gained 8 AVN Nominations, and has been
a major seller, despite a slump in the adult
market.
The hard work and success of The New Neighbors led to the additions of Platinum Blue Productions,
Ninn Worx_SR, Frank Castle's Marquis Productions, Joy Hollywood Wholesale, Bondage Ball,
and A! Entertainment, to the Black and Blue client
list.
Jay Moyes
An erotic artist at heart, Jay was recruited
for AVN's art dept in 1999 and worked at
the magazine for six years. As production
manager, Jay worked closely with publicists
and marketing depts. within the industry.
The most shocking note was how many publicists
didn't understand the need for graphics to
promote their clients.
In 2005, Jay was recruited to work for SLLAB
and worked as consultant, graphic artist,
production assistant, and jack of all trades
for the company. In 2006, he joined Sherry
as part of Black and Blue Media. Along with
the regular duties, Jay acts as defacto artist.
This has come in very handy for publicity,
sales, and marketing campaigns.

About the Logo
Jay and Sherry have both been involved in
the leather scene for years. Jay wrote a
local BDSM events calendar called The Black List for five years. Sherry picked up on that
and started a national version called Black and Blue USA. Jay designed the Black and Blue logo, incorporating
the psychedelic inspiration behind his erotic
art and poster design. The original design
contained black, blue, red and white, the
traditional BDSM pride colors. These have
been changed for the publicity site to make
the logo easier to see and read.
